Moving Beyond Market Opportunities Towards Project Actualisation
The FSRU market continues to take the spotlight in the LNG world with a record number of projects ordered in 2017, and the number is expected to increase beyond 2018. However, industry players note that there have been much speculation in the market, and projects seem to remain in the FID phase. This is largely due to the lack of robust project execution framework and feasibility studies, project financing challenges and more.
With the increasing demand in FSRUs, it is now crucial to focus on how the end-to-end value chain can work together to move projects forward, explore the possibilities of value chain collaboration and integration, with the aim of capitalising on the exponential FSRU market growth.
